Cherries.

If you have some really good fresh cherries – then I wouldn’t put them in a smoothie. Cherries are just sooo wonderful when they are good – it would be a waste :)

I tend to buy them frozen. They normally work out cheaper and you don’t have to de-stone them – which is a bit of a faff! However, they do tend to lose their taste when frozen.

Cherries are nutritionally very dense – being packed with nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. They have a reputation for being good for arthritis and issues related to the nerves and the brain. Some regard them as a super-fruit.

They blend very well and have a great taste. They go especially well with nuts and dairy products.
