Melons.

There are quite a few types of melon. However, they are all prepared in the same way: the skin and the seeds are discarded, and the flesh is used.

The taste tends to be quite subtle – and is easily lost in a smoothie.

Melons do add sweetness – when ripe. They are also fairly low in calories and high in essential vitamins and minerals – so a healthy choice. They have a reputation for being particularly good for the skin and the digestion.

You can use fairly unripe melons if you have them.

I don’t use them a lot. However, you can make some very refreshing fruit smoothies out of them. Great for the summer!
