Passion Fruit.

Packed full of attitude and seeds – the passion fruit is something you either love or hate.

The egg shaped fruit from the tropics contains an orange coloured pulp that has a strong aroma and sharp taste – the skin is not normally eaten.

The pulp is made up of seeds that are crunchy when chewed. These will breakdown when blended – but they won’t disappear. Don’t even try to get rid of them – as you’ll be blending for hours! They do give the final mixture a nice speckled appearance though.

The seeds are packed full of nutrients – especially Vitamins A and C.

The pulp has a strong sharp flavour – so you don’t need many fruits in a smoothie. Normally one or two is enough – unless you really like the taste. It goes will with banana and yogurt – which both take off some of the edge.
