Blackberry & Pear.
A delightful combination of tart blackberries and sweet pear…
- 1 ripe pear – cored
- 1 cup blackberries
- Small handful almonds
- ½ cup iced water
During the autumn you can get blackberries, but they are often quite tart. This recipe combines the tartness of the berries with the sweetness of a ripe pear. This turns out to be a great combination – producing a thick and very tasty smoothie that has a little edge. Truly wonderful!
You can use either almond milk, or do as I do – just pop a small handful of almonds in the blender first with some water and give it a 30 second whizz.
I quite like bits in my smoothie – so actually under blend this one. So you’re left with bits of almond and the blackberry seeds floating in the mixture. Your mileage will vary
