Pear & Pomegranate.

Quite a common pairing (if you’ll excuse the pun) … pears and pomegranates are the best of friends…

  • 1 cored pear – can be hard
  • ½ cup pomegranate seeds
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup water

I was looking for something to put with some rock hard pears that I had sitting round … and realised that pomegranate seeds are often put with pears in salads. Both fruits have a dry taste and they work well together. I just then added the yogurt to soften the taste and give it more of a creamy texture.

The pomegranate seeds will break down into little bits – you won’t be able to completely remove these – so don’t try. They resulting texture is a little gritty but not at all unpleasant.

The result is a great smoothie with nice gentle flavours and a wonderful pink color!
