Sweet Mango Lassi.
The original smoothie dating back around 3,000 years … and my all-time favourite!
- 1 medium to large ripe mango
- ⅓ cup plain yogurt
- 2 teaspoons honey (or 1 heaped)
- ¼ cup iced water
Lassis have been made in India for well over 3,000 years. There are many different versions – but this is one of the classics.
Make sure you use a ripe mango. The riper the better – even if it’s gone slightly over-the-top. Just cut out any bad bits.
Skin and de-stone the mango, add a little yogurt and water, then a good dollop of honey (depending on taste) and you’re done.
The result is pure heaven: sweet, thick and creamy, velvety smooth and rich in mangoy flavour. This has to be the best smoothie of all time!
