A very clean tasting and refreshing drink for a hot summers day.
- Medium handful of kale
- ½ cup pineapple
- 1 cup iced water
This has to be one of the simplest, and yet healthiest, smoothies you can do. The pineapple aids in the absorption of calcium, which the kale is especially rich in. So the combination is ideal for those trying to boost their calcium levels.
The kale has a very subtle taste – and works well with the pineapple. The result is a cool and clean tasting drink that’s very refreshing.
I use a lot of ice so that the mixture is actually cold – which I like. BTW this is one smoothie that will settle.
Variations would be to add a little bit of ginger or mint to it.
