Dragon’s Blood.

If you thought that you would never get kids to eat broccoli and beets … well think again …

  • ¼ cup raw beetroot (or one good slice)
  • ¼ to ½ cup raw broccoli
  • 1 cup black grapes
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup dragon serum (or water if not available)

The idea behind this recipe is to hide some vegetables and produce something a bit different from the run-of-the-mill green smoothies.

You don’t have to worry about the broccoli – it just disappears behind the taste of the grapes and the bananas. The beetroot adds sweetness and an earthy tone, but this suits the overall flavour. The end mixture will be sweet as the beets, grapes and banana are all fairly sweet. The resulting flavour is delicious … bananary / grapey with a certain base tone from the beets. I passed it around and it got univeral thumbs up.

The resulting color is fantastic … a deep gorgeous vibrant dark red .. that will probability stain clothes for ever. So be careful … Dragons Blood is not to be messed with :)
